Corona Closing

March 13, 2020

Content: COVID-19 response for the Indiana Free Library

Author: Kate Geiger, Director

The Indiana Free Library is concerned about our community and our health. We all know that the Corona virus will soon be more than a topic of discussion. It is our desire to prevent the spread of this virus and not be a place where those germs can be passed on. We know that our public enjoys gathering at the library and that it is a wonderful place to meet and greet. Learning can take place anywhere and we do have many resources that are available from our website, but for a time, physical materials will be unavailable. In response to our concern for your health, the library will be closing on March 16th to the public until March 30th when we will reassess.  Books may still be returned in the book drop at the side entrance. No fines will accrue during this time. Please keep watch on our website for announcements and changes at www.indianafreelibrary.org.

No Netflix, No problem!

While the Indiana Free Library is closed and you may have some extra time, please use the opportunity to try out new digital resources. We are now offering ebooks and audiobooks from the cloudlibrary. This is a change for our Overdrive users, begun March 12th, and expands the number of titles available for your use. We also ask that you look over the RBDigital offerings which have expanded to include, in addition to Indieflix with independent movies and foreign films, we have British TV options, access to the Great Courses, tutorial through LearnIt Live and music concert recordings. This trial period will allow us to see what our patrons would like to enjoy, so vote by trying out these new options. We do still offer online courses and test prep/homework helps, music downloads and many other ways to enjoy your library resources from home. Please be careful when you go out. We will try to keep you informed during these difficult times..
