Astronauts in Training: Energy & Force

3 … 2 … 1 … blastoff!  A space shuttle prepares to liftoff in our featured book On The Launch Pad by Michael Dahl.  We will learn about the “reaction principle” where energy and force provides the power that enables rockets to power into space through our books and activities.  Using our STEM skills we will design a spacecraft which will fly upward when using a straw and the air in our lungs to provide the necessary fuel for liftoff. (For Ages 3-5)

To register for the Summer Food program, each child must be independently registered 48 hours in advance of each program participation, to allow for food preparation. See the Register tab above and register for the event and the lunch option if you intend to stay for lunch after the program which will be served between 11:30 and 12:30. This year’s Summer Food sponsor is the YMCA. Children not listed in the registration roster will not be able to stay for lunch. There will also be lunch provided on Friday for registered participants, even though there will be no Children’s program in advance. Lunch will be available in the Community Room on Fridays at 12:30 PM. The lunch provided is for children 18 and younger only. Lunch is NOT provided for adults.
